Textbooks, Physical Books, and Calculators

Textbooks: MPC students can still borrow textbooks. Check to see if the books you need are available by using the library’s OneSearch feature to search Course Reserves. Make sure we have more than one copy available as we do not check out the last copy (though we may be able to scan a chapter or so as long as it falls within copyright law).

Books: MPC students can also reserve books from our main collection (non textbooks) using OneSearch and the "Request" option, and pick them up during the days/times below.  If a request was made through OneSearch, an email will be sent to you when your item(s) are ready for pick up.

Calculators: The MPC Library has a limited supply of graphing calculators for students to borrow. Call in advance to check availability before coming: (831) 646-4095.

The MPC Library is pleased to announce a new Chromebook loan program for students. Currently enrolled MPC students can email or call (831) 646-4095 to check availability and reserve an available Chromebook. Borrowers must agree to the online terms.

Online Library Collection

  1. OneSearch - Access OneSearch’s search box  from the library’s homepage. OneSearch defaults to searching all of our online resources, just make sure that you have selected "Online Resources" from the drop-down or the limiters on the left side of the search results.
  2. Research Databases - Online articles are available full text in over 50 databases the library subscribes to. Find the complete list of research databases here.

Online Help

Go to the “Online Library Help” page to find ways to connect with library staff including submitting a question or making an online one-on-one appointment with a librarian.

Library Accounts

To check out a textbook, laptop, or other physical item, MPC students need to activate their library account by filling out an MPC Library Borrower Registration Application. Then, pick up the library card at the Sam Karas Room location (see open hours). Once activated, students may use their student id or number when their card is unavailable.  Students are responsible for all items borrowed in their account and can log in to their library account to view it.
