Equity Professional Development Resource Guide: Home

Student Services Reserve Material

Welcome to the Equity and Professional Development Resource Guide!

Monterey Peninsula college recognizes that closing equity gaps involves the critical and interrelated components of inclusion, diversity, equity, anti-racism and cultivating equity-mindedness.  To assist in this transformational work, our Student Equity Office created the Equity Lending Library with materials that can be checked out by staff and faculty.  This Equity Resource Guide and it's materials provide basic information and resources about equity, diversity, anti-racism, racism, pedagogy, and leadership.  It is not an exhaustive list and if you have a resource or suggestion that you feel would benefit our campus community, please contact

Vision Resource Center

The Vision Resource Center is an online learning and collaboration platform for all professionals in the California Community Colleges. The content provided will support every individual and college as we work together toward the Vision for Success goals.

The center has recently added two learning modules focused on Equity, Biases and Cultural Competence:

  • “I Don’t See Color, I Just See People: Becoming Culturally Competent” - this module examines the way in which the U.S. educational system perpetuates inequity and introduces various frameworks that can be leveraged to promote cultural competence and improve students’ experiences on campus.

  • “Playing Behind the Screen: The Implicit Bias in Our Colleges” - this module introduces implicit bias and how it manifests on a college campus. The module offers strategies to address implicit bias at the institutional level to improve the educational outcomes for students and experiences for everyone on our campuses.
